Ravi Shashtri To Apply For India’s Cricket Team Head Coach

Just after the resignation of Anil Kumble, BCCI postpone the deadline to July 9, to apply for the role of India’s head coach. The task was somewhere glossing the ease, after the shortlisted framed names of the candidates – Virendra Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus and Dodda ganesh were in the league untill the former All rounder and team director, Ravi Shashtri applied for the role. The BCCI’s cricket advisory committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman has been asked to load the responsibility for the selection of head coach.

Shashtri clearly mentioned “Yes, I have applied for the job”, reports said.

Former coach Anil Kumble resigned from the position stating that his position has become ‘untenable’ due to the difference in style with Captain Virat Kohli. After the resignation, this was well known that India’s captain clearly wants Shashtri back as India’s head coach, to which keeping in mind BCCI extended the last date to July 9 stating that some of the coaches may not have applied earlier thinking that they didn’t have a chance to stand against Kumble.

Now the big question arises for the Cricket Advisory Committee, that how are they going to work on to the idea of selecting Ravi Shastri as the head coach as they have already primed Kumble over Shashtri a year back in 2016. Anyways, the Committee of Administrators have full faith in Cricket Advisory Commmitte, that they will come up with the ideal candidate.

According to BCCI, the coach will be appointed before the Sri Lanka series, starting in the last week of July.
