Roger Federer Wins Record Breaking Eighth Wimbledon

Wimbledon Championships 2017 began at 4:00 pm on Monday 7th July and ended Monday, 17th July. It is a grand Slam tennis tournament that took place at the All England lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London,United Kingdom.

Roger Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player lauded as the greatest player of all times win Wimbledon eighth times and claim a 19th Grand slam title. He turned professional in 1998 and continuously ranked in the top ten. Federer as brutal as he should be and as amazing to watch the match, took just an hour and 41 minutes to win by far the one sided Wimbledon title. He beats Croatia’s Marin Cilic in straight sets to win his eighth Wimbledon title beating the record he had with Pete Sampras and William Renshaw. He oversteps the title won by them in 2000 and 1889.

He became the oldest man in open Era to win at the All England Club. After winning the title Federer said “it would mean a lot” to reach the top world rankings again.

Cilic after losing the match stated “I never give up in a match; I gave it my best it’s all I can do. It was Cilic’s first match and due to blister on his left foot he faced physical difficulties. The difference in experience results in 6-3, 6-1, and 6-4 score. Cilic broke down in tears during second set. Federer paid tribute to Cilic, “It is cruel some time but we fought well and he is a hero.”

Born on 8 august 1981, 35 year old Federer established throughout his career, the results are simply unfolded in reality by the way he is playing now.

Again, it’s a question of how many tournaments will Federer win further.
