The way Panch Kedar, Panch Prayag are located in Uttarakhand, in the same way there is also Panch Badri which is considered to be the place of Lord Vishnu. That is why Uttarakhand is known as Devbhoomi.

Panch Badri of Uttarakhand :- Badrinath , YogDhyan Badri, Vraddh Badri, Bhavishya Badri , Aadi Badri.

1.Yogdhyan Badri:- This temple is located in Pandukeshwar in Uttarakhand. The idol of Lord Vishnu is in a meditative posture in the Yogdhyan Badri Temple.

Hence, this religious place is known as Yogdhyan Badri.

2.Badrinath:-  Badrinath is located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. It is also called Badrinarayan Temple. This temple is situated on the banks of river Alaknanda.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Badrinath Temple is one of the Char Dhams.

3.Vridhh Badri:- Vriddha Mandir is located in a village 7 km away from Joshimath in the state of Uttarakhand. This temple is situated at an altitude of 1380 meters above sea level. The idol of Lord Vishnu is seated in the form of an old man in the Vriddha Badri temple.

It is believed that Narad ji did penance here and pleased with his penance, Vishnu appeared in the form of an old man, that’s why it’s called Vriddha Badri.

4.Bhavishya Badri:–  Bhavishya Badri Temple is situated at a distance of about 21 km from Joshimath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. According to the beliefs, there will be a big natural and spiritual change in the future. At the present time, when a mountain named Jai-Vijay will joined together, the way to Badrinath Dham will become inaccessible.

It is said that after that, the vision of Lord Vishnu will be within Bhavishya Badri instead of Badrinath.

5.Aadi Badri:-  Adi Badri means the oldest temple of Lord Vishnu which is also considered as his penance. It is situated at a distance of about 16 km from Karnprayag in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. It is said that the Pandavas built this temple while going to heaven. Some people also believe that the Adi Badri temple was built by Shankaracharya in the 8th century.

There is also a belief that in all the three Eras (SatyaYuga, DwaparaYuga, TretaYuga) Lord Vishnu stayed in the Badri temple and went to Badrinath in Kaliyuga.
